Energy Assistance

Community Action’s Energy Assistance Programs help low-income households maintain power and heating, especially during the winter. Other assistance through this program include air conditioners, air purifiers, and emergency repair of heating systems. Check for updated eligibility guidelines!

Asset Building

Offers free VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) tax preparation and financial literacy classes to aid community members in reaching their financial goals. The tax prep service helped 500 tax payers in the 2022-23 year.

AmeriCorps

AmeriCorps is a part of a national service movement striving to rebuild communities while broadening educational and life skills opportunities for citizens.

AmeriCorps Seniors (RSVP)

AmeriCorps Seniors (formerly known as RSVP of North Central Washington) is a program that recruits and places volunteers 55 and older in local non-profit organizations, schools, and faith-based organizations working on critical issues facing our society.

Weatherization and Home Health

​The Weatherization Program has been designed with homeowners and tenants in mind, providing energy conservation improvements on existing homes.

Food Distribution Center

We distribute more than 2 million pounds of food annually to area food banks and meal programs throughout Chelan and Douglas counties.

Green Bags

An ongoing food drive to support the North Central Washington Food Distribution Center, which supplies local food banks and meal programs in our two counties.

Literacy Council

The Literacy Council provides free one-on-one or small group tutoring to adults who need help with basic literacy and English as a Second Language (ESL).

Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL)

SAIL is a strength, balance and fitness program for adults 65 and older. Performing exercises that improve strength, balance, and fitness reduces the chance of falling. The primary target audience is community-dwelling older adults (65+) and people with a history of falls.
