Become a Donor
Join your neighbors as a food donor in the Wenatchee Green Bag Program. When you sign up we will deliver a reusable Green Bag directly to your home. All you have to do is fill it!
Three Easy Steps:
- Each time you go shopping, buy one extra non-perishable food item.
- Store it in your reusable bag.
- On the second Saturday of odd months (January, March, July, September, & November-no May pickup), a neighborhood coordinator or driver will pick up your bag and leave another in its place. They will then take your bag to the NCW Food Distribution Center where it will be sorted and delivered to local food banks and pantries.
What Should You Donate?
Simply fill the bag with whatever you would buy yourself!
The Green Bag Program helps diversify and improve the quality of food offered at local food pantries.
- Canned vegetables, fruit, beans, meats, and soups
- Boxed pasta, packaged dinners, crackers, and snacks
- Peanut butter, jelly, granola, and oats
- Tea, coffee, hot cocoa, and nonperishable juice
- Basic needs items like toothbrushes, deodorant, and soap
- Feminine hygiene products and baby essentials like diapers
- Pet food

Interested in Signing Up Your Office or a Group?
Many local businesses, organizations, and groups in the Wenatchee Valley participate in the Wenatchee Green Bag Program. For all businesses with a Monday- Friday schedule we pick up on the second Friday of odd months (January, March, July, September, & November- no May pickup). Let us know your schedule in the comments section when you sign up.
What if You Have To Skip a Pick Up?
Let your Neighborhood Coordinator know you will not be able to participate in that month’s pick-up date. You can skip that month altogether, arrange another time to have your bag picked up, or drop it off at the Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council office at 620 Lewis St., Wenatchee, WA.
