Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council AmeriCorps Program
Bring Out the Best of America
What is AmeriCorps?
AmeriCorps is a national service program, often informally called the “domestic Peace Corps.” AmeriCorps members have multiple focus areas, and all tackle local community needs during their service terms. AmeriCorps placements exist all over the nation.
Our Team
Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council has operated an AmeriCorps team for over 20 years. We place members to serve at schools, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies throughout north central Washington. Organizations can apply to host members.
Our members commit to approximately 10.5 months of 40-hour service weeks from September to July. We can often be flexible with shorter terms that have later start dates.
Who Serves With Us?
People who are 18+ and service minded! They may be exploring a career path or retired. They may be local to our community or relocate to our region for the year. Above all, they want to dedicate some time to making a difference.

Host a Member!
We partner with new host sites every year. Currently, we can place members for partial terms as we are part way through the year.
- A “quarter time” member can support you for about 33.5 hours per week for three months (host site fee $4000)
- A “minimum time” member can support you for about 37.5 hours per week for two months (host site fee $3000)
The idea is to augment your organization’s capacity rather than displace current staff.
