AmeriCorps
Create Change In The Heart of the Pacific Northwest
AmeriCorps of Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council is an AmeriCorps State-National program. We host a team of AmeriCorps members who serve in nonprofits, schools, and healthcare facilities, to address community needs.
What is AmeriCorps?
AmeriCorps is a network of national service programs, made up of AmeriCorps NCCC, AmeriCorps VISTA, and AmeriCorps State/National (that’s us). Each program takes a different approach to improve lives and fostering civic engagement.
We place members at organizations throughout the Wenatchee Valley like the Wenatchee School District, SkillSource, Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center, Eastmont School District, Brewster School District, Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council and more. Members typically commit to 11 months of 40-hour service weeks directly serving those in our community, and some members serve part-time.
Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a $2,000/month living stipend, a $6,895 education award that can be applied to qualifying student loans or future education, as well as professional development and the chance to gain hands-on experience.
