TEFAP and Income Guidelines
It is the intention of CDCAC, that any household facing food insecurity will be able to use any of the pantries supported by CDCAC regardless of income or income guidelines.
The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans by providing them with emergency food assistance at no cost. USDA provides 100% American-grown USDA Foods and administrative funds to states to operate TEFAP. Approximately one third of the food received by FDC is TEFAP food, and is sent to us under contract with WSDA (Washington State Department of Agriculture).
While visiting a pantry, they will ask you to “sign in.” Your name, address, and family size will be collected to help categorize, a) how many people CDCAC is helping in our area, b) how many people are being affected by food insecurity nationwide. We do not share your information ………. All information asked is Self Declared, meaning it is OK to pass on signing in. You will not be penalized or turned away from receiving food.
Below are the eligibility guidelines, and a sample of what the sign in sheet will look like
